Let Zeek and Katie help you create an unforgettable experience while telling the greatest story ever told through puppetry! Katie is so excited about getting presents that she forgets what the true true meaning of Christmas is all about. She knows that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus and God's great love for us, but she has been more focused on the presents instead of the best gift of all. Thankfully, Zeek is there to remind Katie about the real meaning of Christmas and together they tell the true story of Christmas as it is written in the book of Luke. Zeek and Katie agree that Jesus is the greatest gift God has ever given us, but there are a few minor details that they seem to be at odds with. Zeek remembers the story of our Savior's birth as being a rather humble experience, which we know to be true, but Katie recalls a grand entrance for the newborn King with the best birth announcement ever and an incredible baby shower with extravagant gifts. If Katie is right, Zeek has agreed to drink her famous (for all the wrong reasons) eggnog surprise. He can still remember the smell of it from last year and how it made him toss his cookies. Poor Zeek! However, Zeek really knows his Bible, so he's confident that he won't ever have to taste Katie's concoction again. To find out who's right, the two of them take us on a journey through the grand entrance of our King. Or was it a humble one? Could they both be right? Either way, they agree that Jesus and his gift of salvation is The Greatest Gift, and they're both right about that.
This full length puppet play includes an object lesson, Bible verse, conversation starters, review questions and two performance options. Choose to perform the play with audience participation and songs to sing or omit the songs. Either way, it will seem like you worked all year rehearsing a showstopping performance when in reality, you will only need a few moments to prepare. Even though this is a low-prep and easy to perform puppet play, only requiring two puppets, the performance will not only entertain children of all ages, but have them really thinking about the true meaning of Christmas in a way that they will not soon forget. It's not only designed for Christians but for those who have not yet heard about God's love, forgiveness and salvation through Jesus.
